New Secretary at the Oxford Society Headquarter

Nancy Kenny has succeeded Alistair Lack, who many of you may remember from our April Luncheon, as Secretary to the Oxford University Society in Oxford. Nancy has very strong ties with the University: she acted as Development Officer at the Refugee Studies Centre and Chairman of the Committee which raised the money for the new University Swimming Pool. Her husband Tony was Warden of Rhodes House and Master of Balliol. We all congratulate Nancy on her new appointment and wish her all the very best of luck for all the forthcoming challenges.

Our 201st Member !

The Munich Branch of the Oxford University Society has just signed up its 201st member. When the branch was started in 1995 there were 15 members. I think we are well on the way to become an established organisation within the Oxonian network. If you come across anyone in South Germany who is not a member yet, please do get him to contact us.

New Secretary General of the Oxford University Society:

Alistair Lack whom many of you will know from his visit to Munich has stepped down at the 18th June 2003. Alistair’s support of the Oxford Society and the Munich branch has been fantastic and we wish Alistair and his wife Kate all the best for the future.

Alistair’s successor will be Nancy Kenny, at present Development Officer of the Refugee Studies Centre, part of Queen Elizabeth

House in Oxford.  Nancy was born and bred in the United States and came to England when she married Anthony Kenny, former Master of Balliol and Warden of Rhodes House.  Nancy takes up her position on October 20 and is ooking forward to getting to know branches and their members.
